Starting a blog is a challenging task. It takes hard work, dedication, and consistency to keep it going, but being independent in every aspect of your life can feel liberating, especially when it comes to your work. So what do you? Obviously, start a blog.
If you work a job where people don’t appreciate your work, your ideas, or your time, working on a career blogging is a great alternative to working that crappy job. Starting a blog is a great way to take what you know and create content that adds value to people’s lives.
Now we are not saying to go and quit your job today because it takes time for you to generate money blogging, but you can start creating your blog today. Creating a career in blogging, your options in life can become completely endless. So let’s talk about what you will need to start your blog.
When it comes to starting a blog, it can seem a little overwhelming. You most likely see other bloggers who have multiple social media platforms, mailing lists, and etc. What you probably won’t see is all the years of hard work and patience that when into their blog to get to that point. The truth is, if you want to be successful in blogging, you can’t compare your journey with other people’s journeys. That is honestly the best way for you to get discouraged in your own blogging journey.
So as someone who is just starting out, we suggest you just focus on two types of platforms. These two platforms are Long Form and Engagement platforms. A Long Form platform is a place where you can create content that can add high value to your perspective audience. This can be expressed on a podcast, YouTube channel, Facebook videos, or a website blog. Then you want a secondary platform that adds high engagement for your audience. This can be Instagram, Twitter, or a Facebook group. Having an Engagement platform helps you build a relationship with your audience. It’s a place where you can self promote your Long Form content, gain new audiences, and also connect with other creators.
