How to be an Instagram Boss

According to Influencer Marketing Hub and MakeUseof.com, Instagram is the second most used social media platform of 2019. What does that mean for you and your brand? It means, if you don’t have an Instagram account at this point, you are missing out on a huge portion of your digital marketing opportunities. If you have an Instagram account and you understand the importance of having one but haven’t seen much growth, here are some tips to help you grow your brand and become an Instagram Boss.


1. Understanding Who Your Audience Is
If you don’t know what your ideal audience wants, then your content will most likely reflect that. You must ask the question, what is your brand about and how can that add value to a current or potential audience member. In simple terms, why should someone decide to follow you?
2. Rock your Feed
According to Forbes, 65 percent of people in the world are visual learners. Making Instagram the second most popular social platform a no brainer. That being said, having a page with no visual aesthetic versus a beautiful inviting aesthetic may be a factor in how your brand is being perceived. We suggest coming up with your own filter code and applying it to all of your posts. You should also come up with a posting pattern that works for your brand. This makes your feed a little less stagnant and a little more exciting.

3. Own your Instagram stories like you own your Instagram feed.
If you want to retain an honest and active community, using your instagram stories is the way to go. It keeps your audience members engaged and your brand authentic. You can get away with being super raw and or professional with your stories. You can directly speak to your ideal consumer and an easy way for your audience to interact with you in real time.
4. Make use of ALL your Instagram features.
Don’t neglect your live stream, Instagram Highlights, and or IGTV. Each feature adds something additional to your brand for your audience. Live streams allow immediate interaction with your followers. This allows your audience to feel acknowledgment from your brand in real time. Instagram Highlights are great for savings Insta-stories that your audience might have missed or allowing new audience members to see what you are all about. IGTV is the perfect platform for you to create long form video features to add to your overall content for your brand.


5. Keep It Short And To The Point
Don’t overwhelm people. Instagram posts aren’t meant to be chapter books! Keep your wording simple, your captions to the point, and your videos concise.
